There are only a few Bali tourist levy requirements, which are all easy to meet.

Passport requirements to process the Bali tourist tax
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the date you arrive in Bali.
If your passport is set to expire sooner than this, renew it before you do the tourist tax form.
You’ll also need a passport that meets this requirement to get a tourist visa for Indonesia.
Card requirements for the Bali tourist tax
You’ll need a bank card to complete the Bali tourist tax with Bali Tourist Tax Go. This can be either:
- Debit card
- Credit card
The only requirement is that your card is valid and active to make payments.
Email requirements for the Bali tourist tax
You need to provide an email address as part of the Tourist Levy requirements for Bali.
It is best to enter an account that you use regularly.
When the tax payment is accepted, and you’ve been registered in the system as having paid the levy, you’ll be sent an email.
The email contains confirmation that you have completed the Tourist Levy. Bring the confirmation with you to Bali.
Bali entry requirements
On arrival in Bali, you need to present the required documents at border control.

- Indonesia visa (if required)
- Valid passport
- Proof of onward travel (e.g. a return/onward flight ticket or reservation)

Passport requirements to enter Bali
On arrival, your passport must meet all of these criteria:
- Valid for 6+ months
- 2 or more blank pages for stamps
- Registered to your paid tourist tax
- Registered to your visa (if applicable)
Do you need any vaccinations to visit Bali?
You must have a yellow fever vaccination certificate if you arrive from a country with a high risk of yellow fever virus transmission. Infants under 9 months of age are exempt.
Apart from this, there are no other vaccination requirements.
It is recommended to be up-to-date with all routine vaccinations, including MMR, since measles is on the rise around the world.
Bali also advises getting the COVID-19 vaccine, although none of these are mandatory.
Are there any travel restrictions for Bali?
Bali does not have any travel restrictions based on nationality. Citizens of any country may visit the island.
There are currently no restrictions based on health.
You may face Bali travel restrictions if you do not pay the tourist tax.
If you have a history of criminal activity — particularly in Indonesia — you may be denied permission to enter the country.
Is the Love Bali tax mandatory?
Yes, if you are a visitor to Bali and you are not a citizen of Indonesia, you have to pay the tourist tax under the Love Bali initiative.
This is obligatory.
Failure to pay the levy could result in you being turned away at border control. If you attempt to travel to Bali without paying the tax more than once, you may receive a ban on travel to the island in the future.

Are there any Bali tourist tax exemptions?
You qualify for a Bali tourist tax exemption if you are one of the following:
- Indonesian national
- Foreign resident of Indonesia with a permit ((KITAS or KITAP)
- Holder of a Family unification visa
- Foreign student in Indonesia with a Student visa
- Foreign investor with a Golden visa
- Diplomatic or Official visa holder
